Car accidents can occur within just seconds, especially when traveling on a busy road. On March 7, a serious accident occurred along a busy Connecticut highway. Reportedly, a three-car crash resulted in multiple injuries and a driver being arrested for driving under the influence. Authorities are still conducting an investigation into this matter.
The accident happened at an intersection around 6:20 p.m. According to reports, a 44-year-old driver attempted to exit from Route 44 to enter onto Old Albany Turnpike. While executing the turn, the driver hit another vehicle that was traveling in the opposite direction. The incident caused the other driver along with two child passengers to sustain injuries. A third driver that was involved also suffered injuries.
Reportedly, all of the injured parties were transported to the hospital for treatment. The exact details of their conditions have not been released. Upon witness questioning, authorities were informed that the first driver was operating in a reckless manner. Authorities charged the driver with driving under the influence.
A car crash can inflict physical and financial burdens on all parties involved. Even if the injuries are not considered life threatening, recovery could take a significant amount of time. The investigation into this incident continues, and the injured parties may use any evidence found during that investigation in a legal action against the first driver under Connecticut personal injury law. A Connecticut civil court will hear the evidence and may award financial compensation if the injured party is able to prove the injuries were caused by the negligent or reckless conduct of another party.
