Speeding is said to be the cause of an accident that occurred in the recent weeks. The car crash resulted in injuries to 14 people. The incident is still being investigated by Connecticut authorities.
The accident happened on a recent Sunday afternoon. According to reports, the driver of a van was traveling along the interstate at an excessive rate of speed. All of a sudden, the driver of the van swerved over to the left and smashed into another vehicle. After the initial impact, the van veered back across the highway and into a guardrail. Eventually, the van flew and landed in an area on the right side.
The leg of a female occupant in the van was trapped in the door, and she was left in critical condition. The driver of the van was ejected from the vehicle, and he was transported to the hospital also in critical condition. The exact details of the conditions of the other people involved have not been reported. Authorities have not issued any citations as of yet.
A catastrophic car crash such as this one can be traumatizing for most victims. The driver of the van may have to answer to civil lawsuits depending on the conclusion of the investigation and the extent of the victims' injuries. The victims may have the right to file personal injury claims against the driver of the van to recoup damages suffered. Successfully navigated claims in a Connecticut courtroom may result in much needed and deserved financial relief.
