A deadly crash usually causes emotional devastation for families. A fatal accident that occurred last summer has resulted in the arrest of a 20-year-old man. The fatal accident occurred on a Connecticut highway and killed two men. The suspect was charged with reckless endangerment and illegal racing on the highway along with other charges.
Authorities arrested the suspect in the deadly crash on a recent Friday. According to reports, the accident happened on a late night last summer. A vehicle driven by a 19-year-old motorist reportedly went out of control and eventually caught on fire. Both the driver of the vehicle and a passenger were declared dead at the scene.
Officials believe the suspect was linked to the crash. Authorities placed the 20-year-old suspect under arrest in connection with the crash. He has since been released on a $2,500 bond and has made a court appearance in the recent weeks. No other details surrounding this case have been reported.
The teens who were killed in this fatal accident were both high school graduates who likely had promising futures. Tragically, their futures were taken away due to the acts of another motorist. The suspect faces criminal charges, but that may not be his only legal woe, as he may have to answer to civil litigation. The families of the deceased teens may have the right to pursue wrongful death claims against the suspect as appropriate legal remedies for financial relief. The civil court system in Connecticut may award damages if evidence deems the suspect acted in a negligent manner that caused or contributed to the teens’ deaths.
