A truck accident, like a car accident, is often the result of a negligent driver. The actions of one driver can cause a domino effect for others on Connecticut roadways. A five-vehicle truck accident recently occurred on Interstate 395, causing unspecified injuries.
The accident reportedly happened on a recent Friday afternoon along the Interstate. According to reports, the collision ensued when the driver of a tractor-trailer rear-ended a Chevy truck. The impact was reportedly caused when the driver did not appropriately decelerate for upcoming traffic. After the initial impact, another three vehicles became involved in a chain reaction.
Medical crews arrived at the scene and transported five people to the hospital. The exact details of their conditions have not been reported. However, the driver of the Chevy truck was apparently airlifted to the hospital for a head injury. Authorities closed down the lanes in the southbound direction for a certain period of time. The crash is still being investigated.
A truck accident can be dangerous and cause serious injuries to victims. Depending on the outcome of this continuing investigation, the driver of the tractor-trailer could face claims for civil liability for the crash and the injuries that followed. The driver of the Chevy truck and any other victim who suffered serious injuries may have the right to pursue personal injury claims as appropriate remedies for financial relief. Litigated claims in Connecticut may prove successful if the evidence demonstrates that the tractor-trailer's driver was negligent is causing or contributing to the crash.
