The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that the Pennsylvania attorney general's office has filed a lawsuit against the Golden Living nursing home chain alleging understaffing that left residents "thirsty, hungry, dirty and unkempt." Sadly enough, this type of neglect is far more common than you might think. Interestingly, the lawsuit stemmed from the attorney general's "controversial practice" (as it is described in the article) of hiring an outside law firm to dig into the quality of care at nursing homes:
