Hit-and-Run Crash on I-84 Leaves One Pedestrian Dead

police cruiser lightsA 53-year-old pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash near exit 8 on I-84 in Danbury. The driver fled the scene, but a witness pursued the car and called 911.

Connecticut State Police (CSP) discovered the car off exit 8 on Newtown Road. They arrested the driver for second-degree manslaughter with a motor vehicle, driving under the influence and evading responsibility.

CSP is still investigating the accident and is asking anyone with information about the crash to call (203) 267-2240.

There was also another fatal crash Thursday night in Naugatuck on Route 8 on the southbound side at exit 27. Police closed that section of the highway for a few hours while responding to the crash.
